Quality Expert – Precision Machine Shop

We are looking for a well‐rounded individual with experience with machined components under 50mm Ø.

Good organization and record keeping skills are essential as well as expandable computer and literacy skills.

Continuous improvement, and knowledge transfer is critical to our shop culture, and we are looking for the right team player to help grow our capabilities and customer base.

YOUR SKILLS:

    • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MANUFACTURING OR MACHINING OF INTRICATE, TIGHT TOLERANCE COMPONENTS
    • OPERATING, TRAINING OTHERS AND MAINTAINING VARIOUS METROLOGY EQUIPMENT
      CMM, optical comparator, tool makers microscope, various mics/calipers (mm, inch, digital, vernier) and various custom attribute gauging systems, perform first off analysis including half part specimen
    • KNOWLEDGE OR DETERMINATION TO LEARN INTRICATE MACHINED COMPONENT FEATURES
      Thread characteristics, GD&T, metallurgy, and plating effects on mechanical properties, assist engineering in deciphering customers true needs
    • EXTREME ORGANIZATIONAL HABITS WITH ABILITY TO SUPERVISE, CROSS TRAIN AND SELF TEACH
      Assist production staff to meet DWG specifications. Enforce housekeeping practises that will ensure quality of product is upheld. Maintain QC lab organization of documents, gauging, software, calibrations etc. Assist with organization charts, IT systems and software solutions
    • ABILITY TO SWITCH GEARS AND CHANGE HATS IN FAST PACED MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT
      Growing business requires all staff to wear many hats and do whatever it takes. Packaging, shipping, receiving. Sorting parts, create ad‐hoc sampling plans, assist with 2nd Op assembly, collect, and analyze data, sourcing and procuring of solutions.

    Forward thinking to improve and grow our current systems to the next level while working closely with management and production staff. This position is often a supervisory roll that acts as a liaison between Quality, Production, engineering and management.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for and experienced candidate to join our management team and take over all day-to-day financial duties along with various administrative duties.

    The current transactional activities and weekly accounting can be completed in under 24 hours. Our family orientated culture allows us to be flexible for your schedule.

    As with many successful SME’s, Donmac’s staff are required to wear many hats. Our titles and duties can be multi faceted and often the limits of our responsibilities can be blurred – In other words; we do what it takes.

    As a key member of our management team the ideal candidate will bring organization and order to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will be directly involved with an extensive list of duties including but not limited to: HR task, office admin, data entry and analysis, scheduling, future planning and sometimes will lend a hand on the shop floor with packaging, shipping, receiving, or detailing.

    This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to be challenged with new experiences as well as provide their own experience and knowledge to a small business that has a large global responsibility.

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    • Invoicing and Accounts Receivable

    Create and send invoices, Follow up on overdue payments, Maintain records of outstanding invoices and payments received.

    • Accounts Payable

    Track and manage bills, Schedule payments, reconcile bills against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.

    • Payroll Processing

    Calculate and process payroll for employees, ensuring proper tax deductions and benefits.

    Ensure compliance with labor laws and tax regulations related to payroll.

    Keep accurate records of employee pay, benefits, and deductions.

    • Bank Reconciliation

    Reconcile bank statements with the business’s accounting system to ensure all transactions are accounted for.

    Identify and resolve any discrepancies between the bank’s records and the business’s records.

    • Tax Preparation

    Prepare tax-related documents for the business, such as sales tax reports or quarterly tax filings.

    Work with accountants to prepare financial documents for annual tax returns.

    Track deductible expenses to reduce the tax burden.

    • Financial Reporting

    Generate financial reports (profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements)

    Provide insights to business owners about the company’s financial health.

    Track budgets and help the business stay within budget limits.

    • Bank Runs (payment deposit, manage petty cash)

    Keep track of petty cash used for small day-to-day expenses, ensuring it’s properly documented and replenished when needed.

    • Inventory Tracking

    Assist in tracking inventory levels and managing inventory-related transactions.

    • Reconciling Credit Card Statements

    Ensure that all business-related credit card transactions are accurately recorded.

    Reconcile credit card statements with the business’s accounting records.

    • Maintaining Financial Systems and Software

    Ensure that financial records are stored securely, both physically and digitally.

    Stay up-to-date with any new features or changes in accounting software.

    • Maintain production-based software and subscription based services.
    • Cash Flow Management

    Monitor cash flow to ensure there’s enough liquidity to cover day-to-day expenses.

    Advise the business on strategies to improve cash flow and reduce unnecessary expenses.

    • Compliance and Audits

    Help ensure that the business is compliant with financial regulations and industry standards.

    Assist with internal audits or work with external auditors when needed to ensure everything is in order.

    • Financial Forecasting and Budgeting

    Assist with creating financial projections and budgets for the business.

    Help track actual performance against budgets and suggest adjustments.

    • Handling Employee Benefits and Expenses

    Track employee reimbursements and benefits (like healthcare, retirement contributions, etc.).

    Ensure that company policies on employee reimbursements are followed.

    • Manage and monitor various government grants as needed

    Training and Assistance in the above task can be made available if needed from previous Financial Manager.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM:

    The following assets are preferred but not necessarily required.

    • University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or similar coupled with 5+ years of industry experience
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong time management skills.
    • Be a self-starter with a can-do attitude
    • Ability to grow and organize workflow based on the “big picture”
    • Experience working with and troubleshooting various software including ERP, CRM’s and Accounting software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft excel.

    JOB ACTIVITIES

    • Learn our culture and best practices
    • Maintain product quality
    • Programing, set-up, and operation of multi axis Swiss CNC
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and work instructions
    • Verify dimensions of parts using precise measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, CMM, Vision inspection, etc.
    • Collaborate with engineering, QC, and management to maintain efficiency
    • Other duties as required

    • Any post-secondary school or training in manufacturing, metalworking, machining, tool and die, drafting, metrology or similar is an asset
    • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, Six Sigma, etc
    • Working knowledge of milling, turning, drilling, grinding, broaching, and other machine functions

    • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Mandatory criminal background check
    • Speak, read, and write in English fluently
    • Interested in long term career and committed to self growth
